FLOSS Weekly - Jacob Kaplan-Moss Interview

FLOSS weekly interviews Jacob Kaplan-Moss over at OSCON. Listening now but seems like a high level introduction to django, just picking Jacob's brain. They speak django concepts, architecture and django specifics. Good listen so far, always like to hear the creator's define their own project. I'd link to the FLOSS website but it seems down, so here's a nice Wikipedia link. But the post links directly to the interview mp3 file.

"FLOSS Weekly is a free software / open source (FLOSS) themed podcast from the TWiT Network. The show premiered on April 7, 2006, and features prominent guests from the free software/open source community. It is hosted by Leo Laporte; his cohost for the first seventeen episodes was Chris DiBona and subsequently Randal Schwartz."

Callcast - Jacob Kaplan-Moss and DjangoCon 2008

As I posted early this AM, Jacob Kaplan-Moss teased us with the DjangoCon 2008 logo over on Pownce. I've emailed once with Jacob in the past so I figured I'd give him a shout to see if he was interested in talking about the conference during lunch. Luckily for me he was, and I couldn't have been happier to have Jacob on the "show" to discuss some details. We talked DjangoCon and even the Django 1.0 release party. We start with a quick introduction, and then get right into DjangoCon. It runs 8mins and 33 seconds.

RFC: Django 1.0 roadmap and timeline

With some recent grumblings questioning the django release cycle and the django team's focus on the next release being 1.0, Jacob Kaplan-Moss has responded by posting a proposed roadmap and schedule (included hard dates) over on the must-subscribe-to django-developers group. If you're a django developer — it's a must read.

"This is a call for comments on the proposed Django 1.0 roadmap and schedule... Note that though this is worded in the future perfect tense, it is only a draft; I'm looking for feedback and comments from the community before the core developers and I post a the final version of this document (which I will do over the weekend).
